1. Our Commitments
We won’t abuse your attention
Gyre is feedless because bottomless feeds promote endless swiping. To retrieve Bottles you have to go out into the real world, like in Pokemon Go. This is part of the schtick. If you try to get around it, you’re missing the point.
You won’t abuse your anonymity
There are no public profiles in Gyre. We keep things anonymous so you don’t feel pressure to be entertaining or look fabulous. Anonymity is a safety blanket here, not an invitation to be a $#%&. Don’t be a $#%& or we’ll ban you until the sun burns out.
You won’t use GYre if you’re under age 13
Although teenagers may use Gyre with parental consent, children younger than 13 may not use Gyre. If we become aware a child under 13 is accessing the service, we’ll have to block the device. If you are under 13 and considering harming yourself, help is waiting at the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. If you’re LGBTQ+ and need support, you can get free confidential counseling through The Trevor Project.
2. Content Warnings
Some secrets are beautiful and some secrets are ugly. Gyre’s users are free to Bottle either kind, so this service comes with a heck of a lot of content warnings. A partial list of content warnings follows. But first, a word on triggers…
triggers
Bottles don’t have trigger warnings. If you encounter a trigger and find yourself in trouble, take a deep breath. It’s going to be okay.
If you are considering harming yourself, please contact emergency services. Call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 or text HOME to Crisis Text Line at 741741.
Try slow breathing: inhale for four counts, hold for four counts, and release for four counts. Repeat until you feel your heart stop pounding and your muscles relax.

3. Boundaries
There are limits to what can be shared in Gyre. Where trauma is concerned our aim is to let people unpack it, not to help them inflict it. This is the difference between Bottling how you felt when you experienced racism and Bottling a racist rant. The first you can do; the second will get you banned.
general Rules
The section titled Your Use of Our Services in the Terms lays out the general rules:
Be caring
Be responsible
Be authentic
Be good
some specifics
There are two rules we feel the need to spell out:
Don’t use sexually explicit language for the purpose of sexual gratification.
Don’t re-victimize minors or capitalize on the abuse of minors by describing child sexual abuse under the guise of confession.
